About

The Mission

At Deuces CrossFit, we believe health is about more than lifting weights and doing burpees. It’s about moving well, fueling well, thinking well, and living well.

We’re here to create a fun, supportive community where passion meets purpose, progress is celebrated, and everyone is encouraged to become their best self- with a little laughter and a lot of high fives along the way.

Train hard. Live well. High-five often.

Our Story

It all started in 2010.

Our first exposure to CrossFit quickly turned into something much bigger—a passion, a purpose, and a lifelong pursuit of helping people become stronger, healthier, and more confident.

What began with early-morning 6 AM workouts in a park soon moved to a backyard, and in 2012, that passion became our first brick-and-mortar CrossFit affiliate.

Since then, we’ve grown, expanded, and evolved—but one thing has never changed: our people come first.

We believe fitness is about more than workouts. It’s about community. It’s about showing up for yourself, celebrating the wins, pushing through the tough days, and surrounding yourself with people who genuinely want to see you succeed.

Our focus, drive, and passion are just as strong today as they were back in 2010. We’re still here to coach, encourage, challenge, and support our community in whatever way we can.

From a park at 6 AM to where we are today, the journey has always been about one thing: helping people become better—together.

And we’re just getting started. 💪

Coaches & Staff

The people help make it all happen

At Deuces CrossFit, we’re proud to have experienced Coaches, Licensed Physical Therapists, Massage Specialists, and a Registered Dietitian working together to help our members move, feel, and perform their best.

Joe & Ashley King

Owners/Coaches

What started in 2010 as something we simply loved doing together quickly became a passion, a career, and a community. By 2012, we opened our CrossFit affiliate with a shared goal: to help people become stronger, healthier, and more confident.

With my wife’s background in education and a passion for teaching, guiding, and helping others reach their potential, coaching has always felt like a natural fit for us.

We believe a little consistency, a positive attitude, and some good old-fashioned lifting can go a long way. Most of all, we believe fitness should be challenging, rewarding, and FUN!

We’re grateful to coach side-by-side as husband and wife and to be part of a community that inspires us every day.

I am an Emergency Room Registered Nurse with 18 years of nursing experience. I was born in the Philippines and came to the United States in 1998 at the age of 18. My journey from the Philippines to building a life and career in the United States has shaped who I am today and taught me the importance of perseverance, hard work, continuous growth, and giving back to others. “Work hard and never give up” is one of the mottos I live by, and I believe that growth comes from stepping outside of our comfort zones, supporting one another, and never losing the desire to learn and improve.

I graduated from California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am currently completing my Master of Science in Nursing Education, with only three courses remaining before graduation. Throughout my career, I have continued to expand my knowledge and professional skills by earning certifications in Public Health Nursing, the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), and as an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor.

CrossFit has also become an important part of my life. I began CrossFit in December 2012 and started coaching in 2017. As a CrossFit coach, one of my greatest sources of pride is helping and encouraging others to become better versions of themselves. CrossFit is much more than exercise to me. It is a community, an outlet for stress, and a place where I have developed lasting friendships. It has truly become my second home and continues to bring joy, belonging, encouragement, and personal growth into my life.

Outside of nursing and CrossFit, I enjoy traveling, tent camping, mountain biking, fishing, paddleboarding, and hiking. Spending time outdoors allows me to recharge, explore new places, and enjoy new adventures. Whether in my career, my fitness journey, or my personal life, I strive to continue growing, challenging myself, and encouraging others along the way.

CrossFit Coach

With over 17 years of experience in leadership and service, I've always been passionate about connecting with people, building strong relationships, and creating positive experiences.

Now, I'm bringing that same passion for leadership and community into something I genuinely love - fitness and coaching.

Fitness has become an important part of my life, and I'm excited to help others discover the strength, confidence, and sense of community that comes with it. I believe CrossFit is about more than just the workout. It's about showing up, challenging yourself, celebrating progress, and having a community in your corner along the way.

As a coach, my goal is to create an encouraging environment where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and challenged—no matter where they're starting. Whether you're brand new to CrossFit or working toward your next big goal, I want to help you move better, get stronger, and feel proud of what you're capable of.

Most importantly, I believe fitness should challenge you, but it should also be fun. There's nothing better than getting a great workout in, cheering each other on, and being part of a community that genuinely wants to see you succeed.

CrossFit Coach

Hello my friends! My name is Mary, and I have been coaching CrossFit for 13 years.  My coaching style is encouraging, motivating, and energetic.  I believe that CrossFit should challenge you, but also make you smile, laugh, and leave you feeling proud of yourself!   One of the greatest things about CrossFit is the people-my friends, my community.  Over the past 13 years I have made the most wonderful friends through this sport, and those relationships are what keep me showing up every day (ok, not counting rest days).  CrossFit brings me so much joy (and soreness) and I love sharing this passion with all of you!

Physical Therapists

We are the founders of Paradigm PT & Wellness, a specialized sports physical therapy clinic in Redlands. We believe Crossfitters and active individuals deserve performance-based rehab designed for their training goals — not the one-size-fits-all approach of traditional insurance-based rehab.

Since 2021, we've built our practice for people who've outgrown conventional therapy or when basic rehab has failed them. As official physical therapy partners with Deuces Crossfit, we bring evidence-based sports medicine directly to the gym, offering injury screens, on-site consultations, and educational workshops to keep the community performing at their best.
